But you can call me Viola for short. I am a Burnsville, NC wedding photographer serving couples throughout Western North Carolina, including Asheville, Boone, Black Mountain, Weaverville, Spruce Pine, Little Switzerland, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and surrounding mountain areas. I am an experienced multi-media artist who can work in both digital and physical media, and in multiple photography film formats, as well. I have a Visual Art degree with concentration in painting and have had cultivated a passion for photography from a young age.
I believe that capturing and documenting the most precious and dearest moments of one’s life is one of the greatest gifts of the modern era. I feel inspired by seizing one's individuality, connection between two lovers, and the unique identity of a family with a camera. My passion is in the real emotions, the honest moments and capturing how it all really felt. And since everyone's story is different, I know that the crucial importance lies in the raw candid moments.
Born and raised for 16 years in Poland, I always longed for beauty and nature, which strongly influences my lifestyle and work. Some of my early artistic photographs got published in few magazines while in high school and college.

Qualifications
Besides painting and sketching since early age, designing and sewing clothes for myself and my dolls, sewing toys, creating jewelry out of polymer clay, sculpting in clay, developing film photography in darkroom, and lastly being a graphic designer designing logos and CDs, I developed serious passion for photography in my early High School years.
I have been published in The Marble Magazine Winter 2010, as well as Massachusetts Preview Magazine 2014.
In 2016 I graduated from college with Visual Art degree. My primary concentration was photography but I switched it to painting in the middle of it. I saw no purpose pursuing something I feel so comfortable with, and I decided to challenge myself with painting while still pursuing photography in my private life. I own multiple cameras, digital and analog, with my greatest pride being Kiev 88, medium format camera.
In 2018 I decided to create an official business to serve clients in my area. I concentrate now on weddings, elopements and sometimes portraiture. For this reason, I have a liability insurance.
In 2024 I have been published on the cover and additionally on the page 54 of the Photograp[Her] Magazine, Happily Ever After edition (link).

- I am a visual artist, my life is filled with art and artistic vision
- I have a degree in Visual Art with concentration in painting
- I started my first graphic design/freelance photo business in 2010 called "The Barren Land" (it doesn't exist anymore)
- I have a B.S. in Psychology with Emphasis in Forensic Psychology
- I am a mom of three
- I myself am a June 2026 bride ;)
- This business is like my fourth child, I established it in 2018
- I have a Great Pyrenees dog, Snow, and a Siamese cat, Celestine
- I have a very particular sense of humor
- I am an introvert but I LOVE good company

- I moved to US from Poland when I was 16 years old
- I am fluent in Polish, but over the years I became fluent in English, too (but I still may make mistakes;) and my accent is evident)

How long have you been a photographer?
Photography has been a significant part of my life since my early teen years in the early 2010s and has grown from a passion into a profession focused on documenting meaningful stories. I started my wedding photography business in 2018.
What inspired you to become a photographer?
I have always been drawn to storytelling, emotion, and visual art. Photography allows me to preserve ethereal moments that might otherwise fade with time.
What do you love most about photographing weddings?
I love witnessing genuine connection, emotions and lovely movements in beautiful light and scenery. Weddings bring together family, friends, and meaningful relationships, creating countless emotional moments worth preserving.
Do you have formal training in photography?
Yes. My background includes formal education in visual arts, which continues to influence my artistic approach to composition, light, and storytelling. I began my college by concentrating in photography but in the middle of it I switched to painting as I found photography to be too easy for me and I wanted to challenge myself further. I adore both mediums equally and wildly, though.
Why did you choose wedding photography?
Wedding photography combines storytelling, artistry, and human connection. Every wedding is unique and filled with meaningful moments.
FAQ My Approach
How would you describe your approach to wedding photography?
I have a two fold approach to wedding photography. I subtly guide you, ahead of your wedding day as well as throughout it, as to what scenery and light are the most aesthetically pleasing so your photographs look cohesive and stunning. I also focus on keeping you relaxed and concentrated on your subtle movements and expressions of your emotions with your loved ones rather than having you keep stiff poses. And above all I focus on letting you have a relaxed experience while documenting authentic moments and meaningful connections throughout the day. I try to find a balance between all these things.
Do you focus more on posed photos or candid photos?
I believe both are important. I provide guidance during portraits while also documenting spontaneous moments as they naturally unfold.
What makes your photography different?
My goal is to create timeless images that remain meaningful decades from now rather than following short-lived trends.
Will you help us feel comfortable?
Absolutely. Building trust and helping couples relax is an important part of my process. I may demand that we will outsource stressing to your maid of honor for example, lol. Who knows.
Do you work well with camera-shy couples?
Yes. Many of my clients initially feel nervous about being photographed, and I guide them through the experience in a calm and natural way.
